Judy McMullen's Obituary
Judy McMullen of Muskegon MI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at the age of 84. Judy was born on August 6, 1939 in Sedalia, MO to the late James T. and B. Marion (Bader) Obermiller. Shortly after, the family relocated to Muskegon, MI where Judy and her brothers thrived. She graduated from Muskegon High School, class of 1958, then attended Western Michigan University where she met her loving husband of 41 years, Joseph C. McMullen. Together they raised five children in Marquette, MI. Joseph preceded her in death on October 1, 2000. Judy worked retail, was busy with PTA, volunteered at a local food pantry and was active in all of her children’s endeavors throughout the years. Judy enjoyed singing and music of all types; she was an avid reader and loved sharing her books with family and friends. The time spent with her grandchildren brought much joy to her life. Judy was very loyal to Detroit sports; however, she was especially passionate about her Tigers! We are truly going to miss her very much. Judy is survived by her children, Jodi (Thomas) Krajacic, Linda (Bradley) Taylor, Laura (David) Cryderman, Sara Bednarek, and Scott (Megan) McMullen; grandchildren, Joseph (Dianne), Nicolas (Tia), Abigayle, Camyle, Maxwell, Amanda, Lance, Cormac, and Josephine; great-grandchildren, Ellianna, Otto, Augustus, and Ovie; brothers, James (Ilona) Obermiller, and Rodney (Jean) Obermiller; and nieces and nephews. Judy will be laid to rest with her husband Joe at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Kalamazoo County, MI early Fall 2023.
