Judy Ann Smith's Obituary
Judy Ann Smith, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024, in Muskegon, MI. She was born April 25, 1942, to Donald and Margaret Effie (Stanford) McLouth in Shelby, MI. She graduated from Muskegon High School in 1960 and went on to Western Michigan University to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Judy had a passion for teaching and was blessed to have taught for over 25 years as a 2nd Grade Teacher at the former Hile Elementary School in Norton Shores, MI. On June 22, 1974, she married Harold Smith, and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2003.
Judy had a beautiful voice and liked to sing. She enjoyed doing crafts and loved her dogs. Judy was very involved at Crestwood United Methodist Church, singing in the choir, participating on various committees, the UMW group and was a lay speaker. She also volunteered many hours in the community to faith-based organizations like Love INC, Mission of Area People and Sacred Suds. Judy loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed.
Judy is survived by her children, Stephen Smith, Tim Smith, and Ken Smith; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay (Nathan) Strong and Rachel (Terry) Strong; and brother, David (Margaret) McLouth. Along with her husband, Harold, she is preceded in death by her parents, and sons, Craig Smith and Corey Smith.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 2 PM Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Crestwood United Methodist Church (1220 Creston St., Muskegon, MI 49442). MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS in honor of Judy may be directed to Noah Project or Crestwood United Methodist Church.
