Judy R. Wurtz's Obituary
Ms. Judy Ruth Wurtz of Norton Shores, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Poppen Residence in Muskegon after a brief but courageous struggle with cancer. Judy was born on December 22, 1953 to Barth and June (Bearss) Wurtz and grew up in the Beachwood area of Muskegon After graduating from Muskegon High School in 1972, Judy went on to earn undergraduate from Michigan State University and her masters degree from Western Michigan University in Speech Pathology. She worked for the Fruitport and Chicago school system for a number of years before moving back to the Muskegon area. Judy enjoyed traveling, photography, music and spending a month each spring on Hutchinson Island in the Jensen Beach, Florida area. In addition to her mother, Judy is survived by her brother, Jim (Gail) Wurtz, her sister, Cheryl (Mark) Heger, and her beloved nephews, Christopher and David Garzelloni. Judy was preceded in death by her father in 2000. A private family service will be held. A Celebration of Judy’s life will be on February 7th, 2015 from 3-6PM at The Lake House (730 Terrace Point Rd.).
