Julaine Shirley Cole's Obituary
Mrs. Julaine Shirley Cole, age 90, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. She was born in Muskegon on February 25, 1931 to Percy and Jesse (Sweetman) Smith. Julaine had worked as a job placement coordinator at Muskegon Community College for the State of Michigan prior to her retirement. She was an active member and volunteer at Central United Methodist Church of Muskegon. Julaine also volunteered and attended many United Methodist mission trips. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her children, Linda (Richard) Miller, Dan (Catherine Walker) Cole, Randy (Mary) Cole, and Mary Beth (John) Cox; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Don Vanderlaan. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Smith. VISITATION will be from 5-7 PM Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Central United Methodist Church (1011 Second Street, Muskegon, MI 49440) with Rev. Rob Cook officiating.
