Julia L. Ferrari's Obituary
Julia L. Ferrari, age 92, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Mercy Hospital. She was born October 27, 1929 in Barnesboro, PA to John and Angeline Bonatesta. On January 26, 1957, she married Hugo J. Ferrari, Sr. in Barnesboro, PA. In 1969, she and her husband moved to North Muskegon where Hugo worked as a Chief Engineer at Howmet Corp. Together, they had raised 4 children. Julia was a consummate homemaker well known for her culinary skills especially her cheesecake and Italian pasta sauces. Her love and devotion to her family and unsurpassed skill in caring for her special needs daughter are near legendary amongst her friends. “She is the nicest person I have ever met” were the words most often spoken about her. Her charm and grace will be irreplaceably missed. Julia was an active Charter Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where she had taught CCD for over 20 years. She and Hugo founded the weekly Rosary Group. Julia served on the funeral luncheon committee, the prayer line, the women’s guild (CCW), and enjoyed her monthly lady’s lunches for many years. Survivors include 4 children, Hugo J. Ferrari, Jr., Richard (Lisa) Ferrari, Julie A. Ferrari, Jackie A. (David Eberhart) Ferrari; and 1 sister, Ann Bonatesta. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 brothers, Joseph and Carmen Bonatesta, and 3 sisters, Mary Togni, Rosie Schilling, and Ida Pecenak. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, November 5, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church (1110 Dykstra Road) with Rev. Fr. Godfrey Onyekwere presiding. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444, where the Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 PM Thursday afternoon.
