Julie Beth Steilen's Obituary
Julie Beth (Morin) Steilen, age 59, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 29, 2026. She was born on November 14, 1966 to Robert Sr. and Beverly (Goldsmith) Morin in Muskegon, Michigan, and remained in the area for most of her life. She graduated from Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in 1985. Julie married the love of her life, Daniel Steilen, on July 12, 1986 and together they welcomed two children, Nicholas and Ashley. Julie most enjoyed time with her family, especially spoiling her granddaughters. She will also be remembered as a “second mom” to many neighborhood children and exchange students. We will deeply miss her kindness, humor and wit until we are reunited.
Julie is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Daniel Steilen; son, Nicholas Steilen; daughter, Ashley (David) Arnouts and her granddaughters: Grace, Emma and Olivia Arnouts. She is also survived by her sister and soulmate, Suzan (James) Zuidema; brothers, Tom (Debbie) Morin and Robert Jr. (Cathy) Morin, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and many cherished dogs.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will take place at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 12:00PM with visitation beginning at 10:00AM. Black attire is not necessary. In lieu of flowers, Julie requested donations be made to the college funds of her beloved granddaughters, Grace Arnouts, Emma Arnouts and Olivia Arnouts. Donations can also be made to the Johnson Family Cancer Center to assist with breast cancer awareness. Visit Julie’s memorial tribute page at https://www.sytsemafh.com
