Dear Denise and family....there are no words that I can say that will help in your loss. Just know that many people are praying for you. Julie taught many people, including my children, Abbey, Jake and Ben. They learned that not eveeryone is the same, Julie taught them compassion. how to love everyone no matter how different they are from themselves and to be open and honest about those feelings. I know Julie is in a better place, but also realize how hard it is going to be to invent a new life without her. You are in my prayers...Alanna##imported-begin##Alanna VanHoeven##imported-end##
JULIE WAS RIDING MY BUS BACK AND FOURTH TO HOLLAND AND BACK TO GRAND HAVEN. THERE WAS ALWAYS A SMILE ON HER FACE AND JUST A LITTLE GIGGLES. I PLACED A PICTURE OF JULIE WHEN A SHE RODE OUR BUS AND HOPE YOU ALL WILL ENJOY HER LAST SMILE BECAUSE I DID.##imported-begin##melody pierce##imported-end##
Denise & Family,
As parents ourselves we can only imagine what you are going through. Please know that you're family is in our thoughts and prayers everyday. Julie is in a better place, but that is little comfort to those who she left behind. May God comfort you in this time of sorrow.

Dear Denise and family. We are sorry to hear of your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers. The kids and I were talking about how Julie is in heaven with God and what a great place it would be. Cameryn & Ian said she wouldn't need her wheelchair up there and it would be good.... Sincerely, The Veine Family##imported-begin##Jeff, Janet, Cameryn & Ian Veine##imported-end##
Julie was a student of mine at the Ottawa Area Center. In fact, she graduated from my classroom at the age of 26. Last night I found the graduation notes I used to describe Julie at her graduation ceremony. My notes were as follows:
Julie is a wonderful and fiercely independent young woman with a beautiful smile and infectious laugh.
Some things that make Julie happy are the wind and sunshine on her face, children playing around her, one of her classmates getting in trouble, a good book, accomplishing a task, seeing one of her teachers drop something or trip, a good movie, being listened to, a good song, and having the people she loves around her.
What have I learned from Julie?
-Just smile or giggle, they move mountains. And gets you extra french fries and popcorn.
-Eyes speak loudly too! Julie had that "teacher look" down!
-If you're bored, say so!
-If they didn't hear you the first time, say it louder!
-And if you raise your hand and give them a wave, the world is at your feet!
Julie is well-loved and will be missed!
