Mrs. Julyane L. Bokmiller's Obituary
Mrs. Julyanne L. Bokmiller, age 64 of North Muskegon passed unexpectedly and with a broken heart on, January 19th 2017. She is continuing an amazing love story with not only her Heavenly Father, but also with her husband, best friend and soul mate David, who preceded her in death just over a year ago. Julie was born July 11, 1952 in Detroit to Howard and Anne (Korby) Elkins. She married David Bokmiller in 1985. They made their journey in Troy, MI. She worked in the corporate world at Kelly Services, where she met the love of her life, Dave. After Kelly Services she went to work at Inacomp. Following her work at Inacomp they both went to work for Volkswagen of America in the Detroit area. They later moved to Petoskey where she worked in Banking and at Lexalite. In 2004 Julie and Dave were persuaded to semi retire by her niece and nephew Dawn and Dan Cooper. They settled in N. Muskegon and fondly became known as "Uncle Dave and Aunt Julie." She worked part time at Cloverdale Equipment. Julie's passion for nature and animals went above and beyond. She not only tended her garden with love, but decided to make it her mission to take care of special needs cats. She loved afternoons at the shores of Lake Michigan, boating, and Friday night's at the Polish Union, which she was a member of. Julie is survived by her two beautiful "bonus" daughters, Michelle (Dale) Thompson and Pamela (Kevin) Krajenka; sister, Janet Lucksinger; brother, Ronald (Claire) Elkins; and sister-in-law, Joan(Raymond)Gardner; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by by her parents; brothers, Warren and Dana Elkins; and her beloved husband who greeted her at the gates of Heaven to begin their eternal dance of love in each other’s arms once again. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Donations to Crashes Landing and Sid's in Grand Rapids or any other Animal Shelter on her behalf would greatly appreciated.
