June Elaine Bottema, age 86, went to meet her Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2014. She was born on August 30, 1927, the daughter of Jeanette Marie (Krause) Connor and Willis Henry (Sackett) Connor. She married Gerald L. Bottema on Jun Read Obituary
Mrs. Bottema was my fourth grade teacher at Holmes Elementary in the late 70's. I have very found memories of her kindness and passion towards her students. I'm privileged to have been one of her students. My deepest sympathies to her family.

I was blessed to have Mrs. Bottema for my teacher for 2 years at Holmes Elementary.(1969-1971) She was a wonderful teacher who truly loved the children she taught. I ran in to her 14 years ago and she still remembered me!
She was and always will be my favorite teacher.

Mrs. Bottema was my 4th grade teacher in 1961-1962. She was one of the best. My father passed away that year and she was so kind and caring. I saw her about 10 years ago and she still remembered me. Don't know if that was good or bad HA.

A gentle and kind soul has left this world for a better place. Leaving behind those she loved so much and also leaving so many of us much richer human beings for the many ways she touched our lives. Like many others, she was my 4th grade teacher and a lot of writing I had to do (I will not talk in school)...giggle. BUT... She also taught me that teachers could also be your friend and that they truly care about you! That is why I loved her and 4th grade! My name is Diann Schmidt and I have a brother Fred and a sister Karen.
We were sorry to hear that you lost your beautiful wife. I know she will be missed.
You were my teacher in the eight grade at Nunica school in the early 60"s.
You were one of my favorites teachers and of course the most handsome.
My beloved best friend Susie Harper sat near me in your class. Susie and I remain joined by our hearts even though she has been gone for 9 years, this Sept. 26.
We never missed a day with each other regardless that she lived in Boston and I, in Calfornia.
