June Irene Crothers' Obituary
June I Crothers, age 80, passed away on January 22, 2024. She was born in Muskegon, MI, on November 5, 1943 to A.J. and Alma (Puffer) Hughes. She graduated from Muskegon High School in 1962. June had a heart for the deaf community and used her many talents through sign language to communicating for schools, tech centers and in her Church. She was instrumental in the establishment of creating a program for the deaf at her church. She also enjoyed making jewelry and selling to her friends which she later began donating because it brought her so much joy. On October 27, 1962 she married Daniel Crothers and they spent 61 wonderful years together. June is survived by her children: Glenn (Carrie) Crothers, Mikki Hyde and Nathan Crothers; three grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Avery and Maria. She is preceded in death by her parents, A.J. and Alma Hughes; her husband, Daniel Crothers; son, Scott Crothers. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Calvary Church, 213 W. Oak St, Fruitport, MI, 49415, with Pastor Keith Sandison officiating.
