June Ann Lindberg's Obituary
June Ann Lindberg, age 89, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, May 4, 2020, at Lakeshore Assisted Living – Sierra Residence. She was born May 10, 1930, in Muskegon to Harvey H. and Norma M. (Briggs) Rhode. June met her future husband Roy L. Lindberg while roller skating at Highland Gardens. They married on September 7, 1951, at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven. She always thanked God for having such a wonderful husband. Roy preceded her in death on December 14, 2018.
June received her nursing license, through Hackley Hospital Nursing School. She worked as a registered nurse at Hackley Hospital and later at Grand Haven Community Hospital, until she retired. June was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven and active in the Presbyterian Women’s Association. Her other interests included the Tri-Cities Garden Club, gardening, flower arranging, traveling, reading, and she loved dogs and cats. June also enjoyed dancing to the big band music, from Chicago’s beautiful ballrooms to the Fruitport Pavillion, where many big-time bands played. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sharon King; two sons, David (Diane) Lindberg and Paul Lindberg; four grandchildren: Stephanie King, Katie King, Jennifer Lindberg, and Angie Lindberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Marilyn Lloyd.
Due to the Covid-19 virus outbreak concerning social distancing, a private service for June will be held at The VanZantwick Chapel.
