June D. Monroe's Obituary
Our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, June D. Monroe, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Tuesday morning, October 11, 2016 in Grand Rapids. She was born in Muskegon on December 10, 1931 to Frank and Rachel (Rudicil) Newell. She married Donald E. Monroe and he preceded her in death in 2010. SURVIVORS include sons, Richard (Sandra) Riggle, Greg Monroe, Donald L. (Sue) Monroe and David Monroe; step-daughters, Sandy Fisher and Carol (David) Anderson; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Newell and Donald (Marilee) Newell; sister, Marcia (Jerry) Chambers; special niece Debra (Donald) Rinehart and many other nieces and nephews. June was also preceded in death by her brothers, Larry Newell and Fred Newell and sister, Arita Bakke. She was a member of Evanston Avenue Baptist Church and worked 33 years at Muskegon Piston Ring. June loved to spend time with her family. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one-hour prior the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Mercy VNS Hospice or Evanston Ave. Baptist Church.
