June G. Freye's Obituary
Mrs. June G. Freye, age 81, passed away early Friday morning, August 6, 2004 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on July 2, 1923 to William and Florence (Clover) Griffith and has been a life resident. Mrs. Freye was a member of the Muskegon Yacht Club, Questers, Michigan Association of Retired School Teachers, and was a Docent at the Muskegon Museum of Art. June enjoyed traveling, antiquing and loved collecting oriental art. Mrs. Freye graduated from Western Michigan University in 1942 and taught kindergarten in Muskegon, retiring in 1988. She was a member of First Congregational Church. On July 6, 1946, she married Austin L. Freye in Muskegon and he preceded her in death, as well as her parents. Survivors include 4 sons, David (Judith) Freye, Charles (Gail) Freye, Michael (Jean) Freye all of Norton Shores, and Paul (Kelly) Freye of St. Joseph; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Harriet (Roy) Kroeze of Muskegon; and 4 sisters-in-law, Maureen Freye, Helen Freye, Wally Freye, and Charlotte Holmberg. A Memorial Service will be held at 1PM Wednesday, August 11, at First Congregational Church with Reverend Sally Seith officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Freye’s name can be made to Visiting Nurse Services-Hospice.
