June Katherine Marciniak's Obituary
June Katherine Marciniak, age 89, of Ferrysburg passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at her home. She was born November 18, 1919, in Detroit, MI, to Carl and Florence (Palmer) Young, and she married Alexander Joseph Marciniak on January 29, 1938, in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1993.
June was employed at the family owned business, A & A Manufacturing, and retired after 30 years. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. June loved being with her family and enjoyed traveling and gardening.
She is lovingly remembered by five daughters: Antoinette Willard of Lebonan, CT, Joanne (Norman) Davis of Ferrysburg, Mary (Lou) Rodriguez of Norcross, GA, Carla (Paul) Mason of Madison, WI, and Rosanne (George) Simikowski of Chicago, IL; four sons: Laurence (Debbie) Marciniak and Roman (Julie) Marciniak, both of Spring Lake, Winthrop Marciniak of San Francisco, CA, and Frank (Jane) Marciniak of Ferrysburg; 1 daughter-in-law, Karin Marciniak of Beaver Island; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Barbara Durst of McAlpen, FL, and Shirley Ponder of Colorado Springs, CO; also several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, “Jackie”. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander and two sons, Michael and Alexander “Lex” Marciniak.
The funeral liturgy for June will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Leonard Sudlik officiating. Friends may meet the family Friday, June 12, from 7-9 p.m. at the VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery on Monday, June 15th.
