Junior Jay Beauleaux's Obituary
Junior Jay Beauleaux, 89, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at Park Village Pines Assisted Living in Kalamazoo, where he had lived for the past three years. He was born in Belding on April 24, 1926 to Joseph and Ellen (Johnson) Beauleaux. He grew up in Muskegon and graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1944. Jay served in the Navy during WWII and worked 32 years as a draftsman at Browne-Morse before forming Air Masters Systems Corp., a laboratory fume hood company, with his partner Bill Kennedy. He was a member of Westwood Reformed Church. He married Norma Fredericks on July 26, 1947. She preceded him in death in 2005. He enjoyed camping, woodworking, golf and travel. Jay is survived by his daughter, Julie (Loren) Ridoutt; grandchildren, Lee Beauleaux, Kristen (Stephanie) Beauleaux; step-grandson, Scot (Kim) Ridoutt; great-grandchildren, Liam and Emma Beauleaux; and step-great-grandchildren, Ashley, Amber and Grace Ridoutt. He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard and Gerald; sister, Shirley Kesteloot; son, Allen; daughter-in-law, Kathy; and dear friend, Phyllis Hoekenga. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Jay will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100) at 11:00 AM. VISITATION with the family will take place an hour prior to services at the funeral home. Contributions in Jay’s name can be made to either Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or Harbor Hospice.
