Karel Ann Stehouwer's Obituary
Karel Ann Stehouwer, age 68, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, at The Leila and Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence. She was born August 23, 1955, to Kenneth and Frances (McReynolds) Kerridge, in Grand Haven, MI. She attended Grand Haven High School and graduated in 1973. On August 18, 1984, she married David Stehouwer. Karel had a passion for kids and spent her life working in the daycare field, retiring from Little Lakers Learning Center after working there since its inception. Karel loved being a grandma and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and following them to their various activities and events. She loved to take trips to Florida with her sisters to enjoy the beach and sunshine. Her big smile and big laugh will be dearly missed.
Karel is survived by her husband, Dave; sons, Matt (Ashley) Stehouwer, Jason (Cheslie) Stehouwer, and Ben (Lauren) Stehouwer; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Stella, Kade, Declan, Carson, Emmy, Reese, Cole and Olivia; sisters, Pauline (Ken) Melvin and Sandy (Kip) Nadeau; and brothers, Bob (Mary Ann) Kerridge and Willis (Pam) Kerridge. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will take place June 12, 2024, from 4-7 PM at the Tanglefoot Park Pavilion (312 W. Exchange St., Spring Lake, MI 49456).
