Mrs. Karen Jean DeLong's Obituary
Mrs. Karen Jean DeLong, 71, went Home to Jesus early Thursday, June 6, 2013 at her home. Born January 4, 1942 in Wyandotte, MI to William and Nina (Schrader) Allan, she married Fred W. DeLong on March 31, 1990 in Muskegon. Karen had been a rural letter carrier for the US Post Office for 26 years before retiring, and had been an active member of Twin Lake United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and with the Troubadours, the church’s praise team. Her SURVIVORS include her husband, Fred; three children: Lorri (Stephen) Bouchey of Traverse City, Darryl (Lyn) Sample of Twin Lake, and Christine (Joe) Berardi of Melrose Park, IL; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Lawrence (Betty) Allan and Ronald Allan both of CA. Karen loved to travel. She and Fred spent many winters in Texas A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held for Karen DeLong at 12:00 Noon Monday, June 10, 2013 at Twin Lake United Methodist Church, 5940 Main St., with Rev. Norm Swier officiating and interment in Reeman Cemetery. VISITATION will be Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 4 to 7 P.M. at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442, phone 231-726-5210, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
