Karin M. Cook's Obituary
Karin Marie Cook, age 74, passed away, Thursday, October 27, 2016. She was born September 29, 1942 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Millard and Thelma (Clark) Cronister. On February 11, 1961, she married Brian Scott Cook in San Diego, CA. Mrs. Cook had worked for Bell Telephone in California for 3 years, Reliable Supply for 10 years, and most recently for Best Western for 4 years as the front desk clerk. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, belonged to the Red Hot Riders 4 H Club, loved horses and taking trips to the casino, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. SURVIVORS include her husband, Brian Cook; 3 children: Debra Cook, Douglass Cook both of Fruitport, Linda (Captain Timothy, USN) Barney of Chesapeake, VA; 7 grandchildren: Kevin (Nina) Leonard, Linda (Dale) Bloomstrom, Robert (Ashley) Cook, Keith Hannah, Aron Cook, Cherri Barney, and Nichole Barney; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Elaine (Paul) Craymer of Allendale; brother, David (Terri) Cronister of Hawaii; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild; son-in-law, Kevin Leonard; and 2 brothers: Millard Cronister, Jr. and Robert Cronister. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Norm Droski presiding. VISITATION with the family will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210 with the Rosary prayed at 4:00 PM. Burial will take place in Mona View Cemetery.
