Mrs. Karin Sue Peterson's Obituary
Mrs. Karin S. “Kare” Peterson, 60, passed away November 24, 2024, in Ann Arbor. She was born December 11, 1963, to David S. and Jacquelyn M. (Waalkes) Vos of Grand Rapids.
She is survived by her loving husband Eric R. Peterson of 30 years and her two children, Caydn (Kaylee Parisian) and Baylee (Adam Slakes) along with her siblings David (Diana) Vos, Janice (Steve) Brower, Stephen (Paula) Vos, Dan (Barb) Vos, Joan (Chris) Spanding, and her mother-in-law Sandra Peterson, brothers-in-law Jeff (Tammy) Peterson, Kurt Peterson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and father-in-law Burton Peterson.
She graduated from Creston High School in 1982 and worked as a travel agent and a medical assistant in her early years, she spent time living in upstate New York before moving back home.
On October 7, 1994, she married the love of her life, Eric, and moved to the Muskegon area (Fruitport township) in 1997 where she raised her children and enjoyed her married life as a homemaker during her children’s early years. She re-entered the work force as a dental assistant/administer later. Karin was known as a bonus mom to many of her kid’s friends over the years, she loved that her home was the hangout place and enjoyed every minute of it with the kids.
Over the years she kept in close contact with her Grand Rapids girlfriends and developed new girl friends in Muskegon, often taking vacations with large family groups. Fruitport is where she met Cheri Black, her lifelong friend. They had a special bond like no other and often would enjoy a fine glass of wine together chatting about their families and future.
Karin enjoyed taking jogs around the neighborhood, walking her fur babies with Eric, hanging with family and friends, jeeping in her jeep, boating in Lake Michigan, planting her spring flowers, shopping for others, designing jewelry, serving coffee at church, reading a good book, dining out at her favorite restaurant, Bdubs, or just sitting in the hot tub relaxing. Eric loved to spoil her. Spring break vacations were also her favorite times to spend with family and friends, she traveled to Mexico several times, cruised the Caribbean seas, explored the Sedona’s terrain, and ventured the Hawaiian Islands.
Most importantly, she had a heart for caring for others and loved the Lord, Jesus Christ our savior. Her passion in life was simply, Bee Kind to others and Bee Happy of your many blessings.
