Karl Thompson's Obituary
Karl Thompson, age 80, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 in Grand Rapids. He was born November 6, 1940 in Muskegon to Morton R. and Florine (Smith) Thompson and was a lifelong resident of the area. He married Janice D. Smith on July 5, 2013 in Muskegon. Karl drove truck for Teamsters, Liquid Transportation Trucking and Rogers Cartage and retired in 2006. Karl also worked at Westwind Golf Course where he enjoyed playing golf. He also enjoyed fishing in is spare time. He was a member of the Fruitport Eagles, the Muskegon Vikings and VFW Post #3195. Karl is survived by his wife, Janice Thompson; 5 children, Starr (Tim) Godwin, Gary (Cathie) Wheeler, Dudley (Sylvia) Wheeler, Linda (Glenn) Jackomino, Michelle (Mick) Lancaster; 2 generations of grandchildren; 2 brothers, Morton Thompson, Wayne Thompson; 1 sister, Pam (Dan) Davis; and his special pets, Miss T, Nugget, and Cheech.
