Karleen Anne Bodell's Obituary
Karleen Anne Bodell, age 73, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She was born September 11, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Richard and Elizabeth (Williams) Jarman and had resided in the Muskegon area since 1952. Karleen graduated from Grand Valley State University in 1972 and worked as a social worker for over 30 years prior to her retirement. In 1970, she married Richard J. Morehouse and he preceded her in death in 1979. She then married William C. “Bill” Bodell on June 21, 1980 in Twin Lake. Kar was active in community theatre and enjoyed cross stitch and crafting. She was an amazing baker and seamstress. After retirement, she and Bill traveled the country, putting over 100,000 miles on their motorhome. But most importantly, she loved spending time with family. Karleen is survived by her husband, Bill of Twin Lake; daughter, Adrienne M. (Thomas) Pyatt of Enola, Pennsylvania; her buddy and grandson, Gabe Stockman; two brothers: Rick (Barbara) Jarman and Bill (Betsy) Jarman; three sisters: Kate (Harry) Johnivan, Kris McBride, and Kim Sohasky; and seven nieces and nephews. A celebration of Karleen’s life will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 31, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday, August 30, 2023 and one hour prior to the service.
