Karolyn "Pinky" Nelson's Obituary
Mrs. Karolyn E. “Pinky” Nelson, 87, was peacefully taken Home while surrounded by her family on Saturday morning, May 12, 2012. She was a life resident of Lakeside, born December 26, 1924 to John and Esther (Stenholm) Lundwall. Pinky had worked as a secretary for several local businesses including Nichols, MichCon, and Lakeside Baptist Church, where she was a member all her life and had sung in the choir and helped with Awana. Her SURVIVORS include her husband, Donald C. Nelson; a son, Dale Nelson of Muskegon; two daughters: Kim (Mark) Somerville of North Muskegon and Kittie Lorentz of Monroe; 11 grandchildren: Ryan, Eric, Jason, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Maddie, Hannah, Heather, Mark and Ben; and 4-1/2 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Marion Nelson and Ruth Lundwall and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and four sisters. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Mrs. Nelson will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 14, 2012 at Lakeside Baptist Church, 2250 Denmark St., with Pastor Leslie K. Lew officiating and interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be 4-7 P.M. Sunday (today) at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to Lakeside Baptist Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
