Karolynn Ruth King's Obituary
Karolynn Ruth King, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in Muskegon, MI. She was born March 3, 1960, to Oliver and Verone (Redding) Hill in Muskegon, MI. Karolynn graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1978 and then went on to Muskegon Community College to become a Respiratory Therapist in 1985. After a few years, she went to Detroit Mercy and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005.
On October 15, 1982, she married Lee King, and they were able to spend 41 wonderful years together. To Karolynn, family was everything. She adored her two boys, and nothing made her happier than being a mother and grandmother. She made sure her family had the most special holidays with beautiful traditions and delicious baked goods.
Karolynn brought joy, compassion, and love to everyone she knew. She was a life-long caretaker and always put others first. Karolynn enjoyed baking, taking trips to northern Michigan, and going for walks. She loved golf, competitive games of Scrabble, and being a member of the Elks Lodge 1200 and American Legion.
Karolynn was a devout Catholic who regularly attended church, supported the funeral planning committee, and consistently volunteered at the food pantry. Her sons remember her gratitude for St. Anthony de Padua, the finder of lost items, and her famous saying “Tony Tony, look around, help me find what I lost so it can be found.” We all know that God has found you Karolynn.
Karolynn leaves behind a legacy that emphasizes family, joy, and selflessness. Karolynn will be dearly missed by her husband, Lee; sons, Joe (Elizabeth) King and Chris King; and her beloved grandson, Jason.
