Karyl Joy Ohs' Obituary
Mrs. Karyl Joy Ohs, age 63, died Tuesday, September 19, 2006 in Muskegon. She was born September 6, 1943 in Muskegon to Edward & Edith (Haan) Beagle and has been a life resident of the area. Karyl was a 42 year employee of Hackley Hospital, where she had been a Lab Technician for 35 years and currently served as the hospital’s Clinical Information Coordinator. She also was an Adjunct Professor at Muskegon Community College where she taught Phlebotomy and Unit Coordinator classes. SURVIVORS include her husband of 32 years, Tom, her brother and sisters, Susan (James) Hopkins, Joni (John) Thompson, Ella Cook, Lee (JoLynn) Beagle all of Muskegon, and Kathy (Larry) Vollmer of Spring Lake; 12 nieces and nephews, Chris (Kelly) Hopkins, Tony Hopkins, Angela (Rob) Watson, Jodie (Phil) Barteau, Julie (James) Burdine, Jason Beagle, Sara Cook, Ben Cook, Nathan (Emilie) Beagle, Heather Beagle, Kaleena Vollmer and Andrea Vollmer; 6 grand-nieces and nephews, Gage & Noah Hopkins, Clare Watson, Jordan Vollmer, Violet Burdine and Whitney Howell; mother-in-law, Marjorie Ohs; brother-in-law, John Ohs; and sister-in-law Mary Ohs. Karyl was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Edith; father-in-law, Verner Ohs; brother-in-law, Daniel Ohs. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 1 PM Friday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION with Karyl’s family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday. Entombment will be in Restlawn Cemetery. MEMORIAL GIFTS to VNS Hospice House or Hume Home of Muskegon Capital Campaign will be appreciated.
