Katherine M. Cook's Obituary
Mrs. Katherine M. Cook, age 92, passed away, Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Poppen House. She was born May 11, 1918 in Nessen City, MI to Elmer and Frances (Zegenfus) Reed. She graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1935, and resided in the area most of her life. Mrs. Cook was a 70 year member of Temple United Methodist Church. She worked as a teacher’s aid for many years in the Muskegon Public School System. On January 14, 1943 she married James V. Cook, and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1997. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Thomas (Linda) Cook of S. Carolina and Kristine (William) Westover of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Mrs. Cook was also preceded in death by her son, James A. Cook; and 6 siblings. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 2 PM Saturday (today) at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Gerald Hagans officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior the service, from 1-2PM. Burial will take place in Mona View Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Temple United Methodist Church will be appreciated.
