Kathleen E. Brooks' Obituary
Kathleen E. Brooks, age 60, joined our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. She was born in Detroit, MI on May 27, 1964. She is preceded in death by her father, Bud Simms and mother, Donna Smith Snyder. As well as her brother Mike Russell. She was a graduate of North Muskegon High School and GVSU. Kathy was a loving wife and mother. She shared 40 wonderful years with her husband and best friend Ron. She cherished every moment with her daughter Mandy (Jeff) Theisen and son Gregory Brooks. She found happiness spoiling her grandkids; Leah, Paige, and Bodie. She is also survived by her brother Dave (Nancy) Russell and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and dogs. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. She had a passion for teaching. She spent 29 years in the classroom, teaching 6th grade at Oakridge Public Schools. She loved her students and Eagle family. She faced everyday with remarkable positivity and strength. Her resilience and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on and the lessons she taught us remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. There will be no memorial service for Kathy. Let us celebrate Kathy's life by finding joy in hugging our loved ones and savoring a piece of cake in her honor. She was truly amazing.
