Kathleen F. Cross' Obituary
Mrs. Kathleen “Kathy” Frances Butas Cross (Beloved Wife of Alan), Roosevelt Park, passed away on December 25, 2020 unexpectedly at home. She was born on May 2, 1949 in Muskegon to Frances V. (Jurick) and Rudolph R. Butas. She graduated from Muskegon Catholic in 1967 and married Alan “Har” Cross at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on October 3, 1970. She was employed in the medical field with Gary Gurden, MD for 10 years, and most recently at Norton Family Practice from 1994 to 2017. She served on the Board of Directors at Lakeshore Federal Credit Union and was an active member for the Mona Shores Varsity Hockey/Band programs. She was a member of the Viking Linne Lodge 57 in Muskegon, volunteering for 14 years during Summer Celebration and served as Membership Chairperson for the Lodge. Kathy enjoyed decorating, reading, and volunteering. She loved her animal companions, but most importantly, held a very special love for her family who meant the world to her. Kathy is survived by her husband, Alan; sons, Jeffrey A. (Sarah) Cross and Thomas R. (Elizabeth) Cross; grandchildren, Owen, Emmett, Lucas and Penelope; siblings, Emily (the late Richard) Hughes and Marilyn (Joseph) Connell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leo and (the late Kay) Deuster; nieces and nephews, Michael Deuster, Mandi (Todd) Grovsenor, Rick Hughes, Rachel (Jordan) Goforth, and Kevin Connell. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Rudolph in 1986 and Frances V. in 2002. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Private Family Service will be held at this time with plans for a Celebration of Life ceremony at the Viking Linne Lodge in the summer of 2021.
