Kathleen A. Englert's Obituary
Mrs. Kathleen Ann “Kathy” Englert, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in Grand Rapids. She was born on November 8, 1948 to Earl and Lorraine (Zimmer) Cook in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Kathy married Joseph W. Englert on January 27, 1968. They were blessed with 33 years together before he passed away in 2001. Kathy will always be remembered by her kind and generous spirit. She kept an “open door” policy at her home as well as in her heart, nannying several children and raising them along with her own three kids. Anyone was welcome to stop by for a visit, it didn’t matter if it was for only five minutes, or a couple months. Kathy always made sure her guests left her home well fed, as she was always cooking or baking something delicious. Kathy and Joe moved to the Englert Family Farm in the late 60’s and she continued to live on the family farm until she passed away. Kathy will be missed by her children, Joe (Wendy) Englert, Karla (Noe) Robledo, and Jeffery (Elizabeth) Englert; grandchildren, Nina (Aaron) Ochoa, Alexis Robledo, and Jared Englert; great-grandchildren, Gaby Rivera and Adri Ochoa; and siblings, Rosemary Olson, Marlene (Bruce) Klintworth, and David (Ivelisse) Cook. Along with her husband, Kathy was also preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Ruth Regelin, Nick Cook, and Theresa Cook. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held Saturday, September 24 from 5:00 – 8:00PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions to got to the American Diabetes Association or the Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center in Kathy’s memory.
