Kathleen Ann Geist's Obituary
Kathleen Ann Geist, 78, Whitehall, MI passed away Tuesday morning, July 21, 2020 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. Kathleen Latvala was born on December 30, 1941 to Eino Latvala and Agnes (Kasper). She graduated from Bergland High School. She married William Geist on February 18, 1961. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1998. Kathleen raised a family of 4 while living in White Pine, MI. She worked various jobs at Lacroix Hospital and Konteka as well as running her own craft store. She moved to Whitehall in 1997 after William’s retirement to be closer to her family. She was employed by Meijer until her retirement. Kathleen enjoyed knitting, but her greatest joy in retirement was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Kathleen is survived by her brother, Donald (Bucko) Latvala; her children: Don (Michelle) Geist of Whitehall, Pam Geist of Colorado, and Karen (Bill) Bosio of Whitehall; four grandchildren: Kyle (Alecia) Geist, Stephanie Geist, Cassandra (Derrick Christiansen) Bosio, and Joshua Bosio; 3 great grandchildren: Layla Christiansen, Griffin Geist, and Harrison Christiansen; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Eino and Agnes Latvala; her husband, William Geist; her son, Michael Geist; and her sister-in-law, Edith Latvala. There will be no services at this time. We will have a graveside service in the Upper Peninsula at a date to be determined later.
