Kathleen M. Hogston's Obituary
Kathleen M. Hogston (Langeland) passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 10, 2018. She was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on June 15, 1976. She was born to Samuel and Linda Langeland. Kathleen lived 18 years of her life in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she attended Hempfield Schools. Kathleen attended Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia from 1994 – 1998 where she became an elementary school teacher and taught in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools for 12 years. Her passion was teaching and she made a difference in many children’s lives. She relocated to Lansing, Michigan in January 2015 and eventually to Grand Rapids, Michigan where she became a substitute teacher. Kathleen was known for her contagious laugh, great smile and her warm, kind heart. She will shine through her boys and live on in all of us and be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Kathy leaves behind two sons, Andrew (10) and Maxwell (6) who were the joy of her life. Kathy was the loving sister to three brothers: Christopher of St. Johns, Florida; Stephan of Charlotte, North Carolina and Samuel of Davidson, North Carolina and her sisters-in-law: Susan, Shannon and Gina. She also leaves nephews Connor, Nathan, Jacob and Sam and nieces Drew and Dylan. A memorial for Kathleen will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Ellington Funeral Home, 727 Morehead St, Charlotte, North Carolina 28202.
