Kathleen C. Molloy's Obituary
Mrs. Kathleen C. Molloy, age 95, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 in East Lansing, Michigan. She was born on September 1, 1926, to Isaac and Alta Wood in Fowler, Michigan. Katie was adventurous in spirit and kind of heart. She loved to square dance, ride her motorcycle and travel the country with her “Bills”. She was generous and kind and everyone’s favorite Aunt. She never missed sending a birthday card to everyone in the family.
Katie was employed by Union Telephone Company, later purchased by General Telephone, retiring in 1982 after 29 years with the firm. She was a member of the Eastern Stars, a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneer Association and Charter lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association. Katie was also a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, and served as President of the Delta Master Chapter. She did volunteer work at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan.
Katie married Harry (Bill) Molloy on January 20, 1951, and was her faithful companion until his passing on December 3, 1996. On January 31, 2002, she married William L. Shriver until his passing on February 6, 2021. Katie was also preceded in death by her siblings, Merlin Marshall Wood (infant), Robert Wood, Ethelyn (Leonard) Fedewa, Pauline (Al) Songer and Lucille (Holly) McCleland.
While Katie had no children, she leaves numerous nieces and nephews, which she loved and cared for as her own children, as well as many great nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, September 27, 2021, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, Michigan (231)798-1100) with Pastor Mark Olsen officiating. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior the service, from 10-11AM.
