Mrs. Kathleen A. “Katie” Cooper, age 80, passed away Thursday morning, December 16, 2010. Katie was born September 27, 1930 to Merlin and Clarabelle (Hansen) Kennebeck in Oak Park, IL, and lived most of her life in W. Michigan. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Montague, and was a life member of St. Jude’s Circle. Katie married Charles W. “Chuck” Cooper on September 9, 1950, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2009. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Merlinda (Rick) Emerson of E. Lansing, Annmarie Cooper of Greenville, Tim (June) Cooper of Montague, Lisa (Jeff) Crampton of Grand Rapids, Christine (Rick) South of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Tom E. (Margaret) Kennebeck of Muskegon; 1 sister, Karen (Mike) Sell of Whitehall. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 21, at St. James Catholic Church, 5178 Dowling St. with the Rev. Fr. Donn Tufts presiding. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service at church.
