Kathryn M. Bowler's Obituary
Mrs. Kathryn M. Bowler, age 89, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2006 in Muskegon. She was born on July 3, 1917 in Columbus, OH to Lottie and Lee Heinlen, and had resided in the Muskegon area for most of her life. Mrs. Bowler was an active member of Crestwood United Methodist Church, where she had served on the Staff Parish Committee, Church Council, and helped in coordinating the volunteering at church. Mrs. Bowler retired from the American Red Cross after 14 years of service, and had also volunteered for Hackley Hospital, the Frauenthal Theater, and was past program director for Widows Together. On December 28, 1981, she married Russell Bowler, and he preceded her in death on September 14, 1989. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Sherry (Gary) Cantwell of Battle Creek, Terry (Chere) Gibson of Madison, WI, Merry Gibson of Omaha, NE; 3 step-children, Robert Bowler of Madison, IN, John (Vicki) Bowler of Muskegon, William Bowler of New Milford, CT; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Lois Briesch. Mrs. Bowler was also preceded in death by 2 brothers. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Thursday at Crestwood United Methodist Church (1220 Creston) with Pastor Dianne Doten Morrison officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210.
