Kathy J. Lindsay's Obituary
Kathy J. Lindsay, age 63, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 31, 1961, to Jerome and Beverly (Easton) Lindsay in Muskegon, MI, where Kathy remained a lifelong resident of the community she loved. A proud graduate of Reeths-Puffer High School’s Class of 1980, she furthered her education at Ross Medical Education Center. Kathy dedicated 19 years of service as a lab assistant at Mercy Hospital, where she was known for her kindness, dedication, and hard work. Kathy found joy in life’s simple pleasures such as word searches, puzzles, sudoku, and discovering new things on her tablet, but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her world, and being their grandmother was her greatest joy and pastime. Kathy will always be remembered for her zest for life, unwavering love, and selfless devotion to her family. She touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her two children, Sondra Lindsay and Jessica Lindsay; five grandchildren, Desjuan Lindsay, Marquan Lindsay, Bre’Asia Lindsay-Dowdell, Ajay Jones II and Ari Jones; three sisters, Kim (Larry) Mahoney, Karen Stapel and Kay Lindsay; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Bill Fliestra. A Celebration of Kathy’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with visitation one-hour prior. A Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at The Lee Chapel.
