Kathy L. Routhier's Obituary
Mrs. Kathy L. Routhier (Pohlman), age 51, loving wife, mother and daughter, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Ishpeming, MI on March 11, 1964 to Roger and Florence (Campbell) Pohlman. Kathy graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1982 and Northern Michigan University of Cosmetology School. She met and fell in love with David A. Routhier and they were married in Marquette on July 20, 1987. Kathy was a dedicated United States Air Force and Michigan Air National Guard spouse for 28 years. They started their married life together living at the K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Gwinn, MI before moving to Cheyenne, WY, Fayetteville, NC and Bellville, IL. In 1999, Kathy and David settled their family in Manistee, MI where she worked as a personal trainer at West Shore Medical Center. In 2003, they moved to Norton Shores where she raised her boys and worked as a waitress at Toast and Jams. Kathy was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church where she was active with teaching children’s Bible School. She also enjoyed volunteering at the local food pantry. Kathy enjoyed taking her dogs for walks and loved walking on the beach. Most importantly, Kathy enjoyed spending time and doing activities with her two sons and family. She is survived by her husband, David; two sons, Jesse A. Routhier and Cody L. Routhier; her mother, Florence Pohlman; her mother-in-law, Barbara Routhier; two brothers, Stephen (Cindy) Pohlman and Todd (Billie) Pohlman; two sisters, Linda (Dominic) Bertucci and Debra (Scott) Snell; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Pohlman; her father-in-law, Ronald Routhier and her grandparents. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Forest Park Covenant Church with Rev. David McCowan officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to her service. For a more lasting MEMORIAL, please consider NOAH Project. Burial will take place at a later date in Ishpeming, Mi.
