Katie VanWyk's Obituary
Katie L. VanWyk, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 10, 2019. She was born on December 12, 1924 to Robert and Rosie (Washington) Evans in Barnesville, GA. Katie was a longtime member of Lakeside Baptist Church and a retiree of Parson’s Department Store. Although she lived in Michigan for many years, she was a true southern lady and she will be missed by all. She is survived by her son, Jon (Nancy) VanWyk; very special daughter-in-law, Theresa VanWyk; grandchildren, Michell Denesen, Nick VanWyk, Eric Uzarski, Jennifer Schuitman, Amy Younkman, Jennifer VanWyk; and eight great-grandchildren, including her special great-granddaughter, Hallie, who will miss pushing grandma in her wheelchair and making her smile. She was preceded in death by her Husband Robert W. VanWyk and son, Gerrit L. VanWyk. Katie will be laid to rest on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Lakeside Cemetery.
