Katy Jo Rasic's Obituary
Katy Jo (Sager) Rasic, age 64, of Twin Lake, Michigan, joined her Heavenly Father on August 23, 2025. She fought a long battle with renal failure and years of dialysis. Katy was born in Coldwater, Michigan, on October 20, 1960, to Carol (Lindeman) Sager and William Paul Sager. She was a happy little girl and loved to sing. She attended early school years in Coldwater; however, her family later moved to Coolidge, Arizona, and she graduated from Coolidge High School. Returning to her roots in Michigan, she earned her Bachelor's Degree at Baker College in Muskegon, Michigan. On August 31, 1984, she married Steven Rasic. They had two children, Samantha Jo Rasic ( who preceded her in death) and Spencer Michael Rasic. Katy was a nurturer. She loved babies and all children. She liked playing cards with her friends and reading, especially the V.C. Andrews series. She loved all animals, from baby chicks and ducks to kittens and dogs. They were all given special names by Katy. She and her husband had large vegetable gardens, and Katy preserved much of the harvest in her small kitchen. Katy was preceded in death by both of her parents, her daughter Samantha Jo, and her brother Marc Allen Sager. She is survived by her husband, Steven, and her son Spencer. Also surviving are her sisters Constance Brooks, Robin Rice, stepmother Susan (Sager) Westrate, stepsisters Kendra Szymanski and Leslee Huntley. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 28, 2025, at her church, Community of Christ, 2671 Ducey Street, Muskegon, Michigan 49442, at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations be made to The National Kidney Foundation, Gift Processing at National Kidney Foundation HQ, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016
