Jim and I met Doug and Kay many years ago (over 50) when we moved into their neighborhood. Our yards butted up against each others. We became fast friends as Doug's sense of humor and Jim's were nearly the same. The girls were so adorable. We spent many weekends grilling out, having a beer or two, mixing with the kids and parents in the neighborhood. We moved away but they visited us with the kids then we had our own. We got together when time allowed and then we got busy raising all these children and lost a little touch. We would get together occasionally to share Fricano's or Clover Bar pizza and for many years we would do Thanksgiving leftover dinner together. I also remember one New Year's Eve we did fondue and cooked everything we could think of. Kay was one of the sweetest women I have ever met. She tolerated us and cooked great food, was happy to get together anytime, was such an excellent cross stitcher. We were very close at one time and those times seem so far away. Well, they were, it was a long time ago. They were great friends and the pictures and memories of those good times will be forever in our hearts. To Renee, Danielle and Rebecca, your parents were wonderful. Kay of course held you all together and surely your hearts are broken. Love you to and your families.
