Kay L. Rousell's Obituary
Mrs. Kay L. Rousell, age 71, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at her home. She was born April 12, 1939 in Ravenna to Russell and Gertrude (Kern) VanBrocklin, and resided in the area most of her life. Kay was a member of Lake Harbor United Methodist Church, and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. On April 25, 1959, she married Mark Rousell, and he survives her along with 3 children, Douglas (Kathy) Rousell of Ann Arbor, Dennis (Viki) Rousell of Hudson, FL, and Kristen (Jim) Avila of Norton Shores; 9 grandchildren, Rebecca, Matthew, Brendan, Emily, Ryan, Kelly, Jillian, Anna, and Megan; 3 sisters, Loa Vandervelde of Fruitport, Vicki Osburn of Shelbyville, MI, Jane (Earl) Seelye of Muskegon; 2 brothers, Keith (Kathleen) VanBrocklin of Pentwater and Gary VanBrocklin of Muskegon; and sister-in-law, Jackie VanBrocklin. Kay was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Janice Smeaton, Avis Nielsen and Vee Vanette; and 2 brothers, Raymond and Dale VanBrocklin. The MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11 AM Wednesday, July 7 at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church (4861 Henry St.) with Rev. Mark R. Erbes officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. Memorial Contributions in Kay’s name may be made to Lake Harbor United Methodist Church, or Harbor Hospice.
