Keith Thomas Somers Sr's Obituary
Keith Thomas “Tom” Somers Sr, age 82, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on November 16, 1935 to Alexander and Barbara (Aerts) Somers in Muskegon. On September 3, 1955, he married the former Shirley Rambo in Muskegon and they spent 63 wonderful years together. Tom retired from BC Cobb after 21 years in 1998. Tom was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and sang in the choir for almost 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. Along with his wife, Shirley, Tom was also survived by his children, Christine Piper, Barbara (Gary) Waybill, Keith Somers Jr, Michael Somers and Anthony Somers (Judy Wierengo); seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren with one on the way; and siblings, Barbara Fraser and James (Shirley) Somers. He was preceded in death by his son, David Somers, parents, sister, Eloda (Phillip) Maxey; and brother-in-law, James Fraser. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, November 8 at 10AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (239 W. Clay Ave.).
