Keith M. Stapel's Obituary
Keith Martin Stapel, age 45, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Sunday, November 2, 2025. Keith was born in Grand Rapids on December 4, 1979, to Dennis and Jacquelin (Ashley) Stapel. He participated with the graduating class of Reeths Puffer High School in 2000, earning that year’s Rocket Award that is given to students of exemplary character. He was a longtime member at First Lutheran Church.
Keith was disabled but he did not let that stop him from living his life to the fullest. He always had a positive attitude and never complained about anything, and anyone who knew him could not help but love him. Through MOKA he worked as a greeter at Meijer for many years and also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed playing cards and watching Green Bay Packers and MSU Football. More than anything he loved spending time with his family, especially on holidays and special occasions. His contagious laughter will be remembered by all who knew him, as well as his tendency to tell people what date it was on any given day.
Keith will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Jackie Stapel; brother Jeff (Brenda) Stapel and twin brother Kevin (Marisa) Stapel; five nieces and nephews: Joshua, Kira, Adam, Jeffery, and Nathan; and great-nephew and great-niece, Issac and Taylin Alvesteffer. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis “Bozo” Stapel; grandparents, Carl and Jean Stapel and Martin and Mary Ashley; and special friend, Linda Cates.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held for Keith at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 14, 2025, at First Lutheran Church, 1206 Whitehall Rd, Muskegon, MI 49445, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI, 49442.
