Keith F. Smith's Obituary
Keith F. Smith, age 80, passed away Saturday afternoon following a brief illness. He was born in East Jordan, MI on May 19, 1930. Mr. Smith was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and moved to Muskegon following his release from active duty. He married the former Carolyn J. Larabee in Muskegon on June 28, 1952 and she survives him. Keith owned and operated Keith’s Wesco Station on Apple Ave for 32 years, retiring in 2005. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Safari Club. Mr. Smith was also a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and a life member of V.F.W. Post 8846. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; three daughters, Sheryl (Blake) Parsons of N. Muskegon, Terrie (Jim) Walters of N. Muskegon and Carol (Ron) DuBois of Montague; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his special cousin and best friend, Virgil (Lola) Somerville and his dog, Mable. The funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church, 2651 Shettler Rd. with Rev. Timothy J. Winkle officiating. He will be laid to rest in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100, Wednesday, 6-8 P.M. Memorial Contributions to the Church will be appreciated.
