Kelly Jo Pierce-Hayes' Obituary
Kelly Jo Pierce-Hayes, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away of natural causes on May 3, 2024, at the age of 64. Kelly was born on February 9, 1960, to Robert and Virginia (Mounce) Pierce in Charleston, IL.
A longtime resident of West Michigan, Kelly was a vibrant part of the White Lake community. She dedicated her life to helping others through volunteerism and community service. Kelly worked for many years with the ARC, a charitable organization dedicated to providing services and opportunities to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and continued her service to those clients even into her retirement. She possessed a great spirit and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched the lives of many.
Kelly is survived by her loving husband, Dennis J. Hayes of Whitehall, MI; her devoted children, Dakota (Madaline) Pierce-Hayes of North Muskegon, MI, and Montana Pierce-Hayes of Whitehall, MI; her stepchildren, Wendy (Mike Chavez) Hayes of Santa Fe, NM, and Tatum (Eddie) Perez of Denver, CO; her step grandchildren, Mike Chavez, Jr., Amber Guevara, and Megan Chavez; and her step great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Guevara and Trinity Guevara. She is also survived by her sister, Wendy L. Scott of Norton Shores, MI and her brother, James Andrew “Andy” (Lisa) Pierce of Los Gatos, CA; and three nephews, Riley Scott, Alexander “Alex” James Pierce, and Garrison Michael Pierce.
Kelly was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Robert Pierce and Virginia Pierce; her brother, Robert Todd Pierce; and her nephew, Trevor Pierce.
Kelly's legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests those who wish to express sympathy consider making a charitable donation to the ARC Muskegon, 601 Terrace Street, Muskegon, MI 49440.
