Mr. Kenneth G. Cobb's Obituary
Mr. Kenneth G. Cobb, 82,”graduated” into the arms of his Lord and Savior Wednesday morning, October 19, 2016 in Muskegon. He was born March 23, 1934 to Tyrus and Marjorie (Engles) Cobb in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. Ken had a great sense of humor and the gift of gab that he shared with everyone he met. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1952, and stayed active in organizing and emceeing his class reunions. Ken loved his family and will be greatly missed. He worked in the food and spice industry for 32 years, retiring from the Paul Inman Company in 1997, and was a member of Mona Shores Baptist Church. Ken enthusiastically volunteered at International Aid and drove for the American Red Cross. On October 17, 1953 Ken married Doris E. Swanson, who preceded him in death on 1991. He later married Barbara VanKampen Zamieszck, who preceded him in death in 2007. Survivors include 3 children, Sheryl (Dwight) Richards, Linda (Ronald) Johnson, David (Anne) Cobb; 7 grandchildren, Nick Rockey, Jacob (Jill Greeno) Richards, Matthew (Jaclyn) Cobb, Sarah, Emily, Ian and Lucy Cobb; 4 great-grandchildren; special friend, Marilyn Rockey; his brother-in-law, Ken Herzshaft; sister and brother-in-law, Shar and Dean Sanborn; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cobb was also preceded in death by his parents, Tyrus and Marjorie; and his sister, Marlene Herzshaft. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 22, at 10:00 AM at Mona Shore Baptist Church. Visitation at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
