Kenneth A. Falbe's Obituary
Kenneth Arthur Falbe, age 80, passed away in Montague, MI, on Sunday, September 25, 2022. Ken was born on July 1, 1942, in Muskegon, to his parents Arthur and Emily (Fotjik) Falbe. He graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central in 1960, and in the fall of that same year at the age of 17 he went on to attend Molar Barber College in Chicago. Ken married the former Patricia Ann Rasey on June 16, 1962, and they spent 60 wonderful years together. Ken bought Trim Time Barber Shop in Whitehall in 1967, where he worked for almost 50 years until he had a stroke in 2010. When he wasn’t behind a barber chair, he loved spending time in the outdoors. He built and raced small remote-control boats, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. His favorite sport was snowmobiling. Most weekends he would be on White Lake tuning engines for racing with his brother, Dave Falbe, and nephew, Tim Falbe. The team won the World Series Race in Gaylord in 2009, before his first stroke. He was an active member of the White Lake Eagles. He was also a member of the Twisting Trails Snowmobile Club, where he would help build the track for racing all winter. He raced belt sanders in the Hunts Hardware competition at summer festivals. His garage was like his second home. His family took priority over all other things and his love for his grandchildren and nieces and nephews was evident. Kenneth will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia; two daughters: Laure (Tom) Bollenbach and Lisa (Mike) Holder; four grandchildren, who were his shining stars: Shaun (Stephanie) Holder, April Bollenbach, Julie Bollenbach, and Jonah Holder; sister, Audrey Bates; and two brothers, Jim (Catherine) Falbe and Steve (Annette) Falbe. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Emily; and two brothers, Dave Falbe and Tom Falbe. A private graveside gathering and celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Ken to your favorite cause or charity. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444.
When you remember me
The sound of a gun shot in the hunting woods
Marks from an arrow shot in the trees
The roar of an engine running at top speed
A trail of Happy Tracks made from my Ski-doo snowmobile
As I look back and see
In a boat with thoughts of my four shining stars
Fishing pole in my hand
I head out where the sky meets the sea
These are some of my favorite things and the places I wanted to be
When you remember me
-Loving Wife, Patricia
