One of my favorite memories of Uncle Kenny was when he flew out to Minot, ND to drive me home from college because i was scared to drive through Chicago. We had such good time and stopped in Muscoda, WI for the annual Morel Mushroom festival where we stayed the night and went hunting for morels. We drank miller lights in the hotel , marveled at the idea that people were selling a pound of morels for fifty dollars, and how we have to figure out how to mass produce them. This time with him i will cherish. Some childhood memories would be the story of the troll in the basement of the storage room at the home on meadowlane, pull my finger, brazil nuts, how mom could never burn the sweet potatoes and his famous baked beans. What makes me laugh the most is when we would gather together and all go where’s Kenny if you lent him your ear he was your new best friend. I loved this about him. I hope and pray that the memories you and your family have created and shared throughout his life will bring you strength, comfort and most of all peace.
We were so shocked to hear about Ken's passing. Thoughts and prayers from Jo, Dave, Chata and Tobi (aka.."fancy pants " by Ken)! We have many fond memories of your family. Please remember the good times as they will help to get you through these sorrowful times. The Cherrys
When Jimmy Smith was killed in a car accident and just Sherry and myself to keep his business running in comes Kenny to see if he could help us. We said sure and he helped us get through a very hard time. Cathy Hopkins
This story is in 2 parts. Hi my name is Scott Eagleson, a fellow Kirsch employee. I am the father of 3 girls and 2 of which were twins. This story happened about 25 years ago. I had finish my shift on 2nd one night and headed home to my house which is located on US highway 20, a very busy road in Northern Indiana. As I arrived home I found my wife all work d up and saying one of our twin daughters almost died today. She tells me that she had been shopping earlier that day and had all 3 girls with her. When she arrived home and unbuckled the twins
Their car seats and some how my 2yr old twins got out of the car at the same time. One little girl headed for the pond in my back yard and the other headed for the road in my front yard, both were running. My wife could not swim and decided to get the one headed for the pond first. Once she had the little one secured in her older sisters hand, she ran after the other little girl and caught up with her right in the middle of the highway! A semi was headed right for them! The truck driver had his tires locked up and sliding his trailer sides ways before getting stopped. My wife and child got out of the road and as the semi slowly started to roll by, my wife read KIRSCH on the side of the rig! I found out the name of the skilled and alert semi drivers name was Kenny Hudson. I wrote him a thank you letter expressing my gratitude and met him and thanked him in person. He had told me that there was a car trying to pass him as he was slowing his semi down and seeing my little girl heading for US-20 , so he purposely slid the trailer sideways to keep the car behind him. Kenny is a Hero in my eyes and our family will always be grateful to him. our girls are all grown up now but we will never forget your loved one. Sincerely Yours Scott E. Eagleson.
