Kenneth G. Olson's Obituary
In the presence of his loving family, Kenneth George Olson, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on July 8, 2012. Kenneth was born in Muskegon Heights, Michigan on August 9, 1932. He and his high school sweetheart, Carol (Jones) Olson, married in Muskegon, Michigan June 30th, 1949. Kenneth was a graduate of Muskegon Heights High School and worked at CWC Textron for 36 years. He retired January 1, 1987 and moved to Ellenton, Florida where he resided with his wife for the last 25 years. Kenneth was an active member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Muskegon Heights, Michigan and New Hope Baptist Church in Parrish, Florida. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golf, softball and bowling. Kenneth was also an avid Tigers, Lions, Redwings and Wolverine fan. He is survived by his 7 children: Janice (David) Wells, Jerald (Linda) Olson, Joy (Marc) Livingston, Joe (Sheri) Olson, Jacquelyn (Brian) Wagenmaker, James (Ann) Olson and Jeffrey (Diane) Olson; 31 grandchildren: David Jr (Sherry), Denise (Mike), Jason (Tiffany), Josh, Justin, Matt (Jessi), Jon (Becky), Faith, Jennifer (Ed), Jill (Steve), Julie (Steve) Jesse, Marie (Tony), Amanda (Marcus), Kyle, Jordan (Desirae), Jeremy, Joseph Rebecca and Rachel; 31 great-grandchildren; and sisters Ebba (Alton) Cothron, Corrine Zacharias, and Ada Olson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Carol Olson, his parents George and Mayme Olson, brother George Olson, sister Velma Wright, daughter-in-law Brenda Kay Olson, and great-grandson Toby Livingston. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Lake Community Church of the Nazarene (2270 S. Mill Iron Rd.) VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 and one hour prior at church. Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. MEMORIALS to New Tribes Mission in Sanford, FL. would be appreciated.
