Kenneth L. Osborn's Obituary
Mr. Kenneth L. Osborn, age 82, went to be with his loving Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, February 25, 2015 as the sun rose. He was surrounded in love by his wife of 59 years and children, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Ken was born October 10, 1932 to Kenneth and Beulah (Barnhard) Osborn, Sr, and had lived in the Muskegon area his entire life. He served during the Korean War as a communications and radio technician in Germany. Kenneth married the former JoAnn Veeneman on June 16, 1956 and upon completing his stint in the service, and while working at Continental Motors Corporation, he took classes at Muskegon School of Business, Western Michigan University; and completed his degree in Accounting at Aquinas College. After he obtained his degree he began working at Shaw Box Crane & Hoist where the company went thru many name changes; Dresser Industries; Lift Tech Intl. His accounting career of 42 years ended while he was in the position of vice-president/controller when the company was purchased by Columbus McKinnon and was moved out of town. Ken was a “Big Red”; “Tiger” and “Michigan“ fan and loved the game of golf and also bowling. He loved to travel with his wife, and children, Michael (Lolene); and Charles (Rachelle) both of North Muskegon, and Lisa (Royce) Zook of White Cloud. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Steve Osborn (fiancée, Amanda) and Jennifer (Chad) Pallasch, Steven Zook and Aidenn Zook of White Cloud; step grandchildren, Amy (Alan) Hosford of New Jersey, Jeremy Church of North Muskegon, and Jaelyn Zook of White Cloud; 2 great grandchildren, Sage Pallasch and Chase Pallasch; 1 brother, Orvil Osborn of Grand Haven; sisters, Margie Ray of Fairdealing, Missouri, Carolyn (Wayne) Brooks of Twin Lake, Marian VanderKooi, Judy Potter of Muskegon and sister-in-law, Mary Veeneman of Huntsville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law, Arnold VanderKooi; Al Potter and Julian Ray. He leaves many close friends and his “Woodchucker” buddies from Stillwater Springs. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2pm Friday, February 27, 2015 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Pastor Glen Jefferies officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS in Ken’s name can be directed to Noah Project or Mercy VNS Hospice.
