Kenneth Rom's Obituary
Mr. Kenneth Rom, age 84, of Spring Lake passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024. He was born November 14, 1939, in Detroit to John and Bertha (Marjerle) Rom. On June 28, 1974, he married Patricia Napierkoski in Detroit.
Ken was a veteran of the US Army where he was Specialist in Cryptography and spent time in France, he was also a member of the American Legion Post 28. He was a salesman for Central Steel & Wire for over 30 years. Ken enjoyed watching and playing golf, the Detroit Red Wings and all the other Detroit sports teams. In retirement he and Pat traveled to Hawaii and Alaska and spent many winters in Cape Coral, FL. He will be very missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Pat; two sons, Dennis (Catherine) Ellis, and Daniel (Vicki) Ellis; four grandchildren: Nicholas (Marilyn) Ellis, Paul Ellis, Grant Ellis, and Jack Ellis; great-grandchildren: Roland, and Artemis Ellis, and Gabriella Girradi, Ethan, and Emmett Ellis; brother, Denis Rom, and sister-in-law, Elaine Rom; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha; siblings: Nancy (Richard) Balsden, Lorraine (Mohammed) Razzaque, James Rom; sister-in-law, Mary Rom.
A graveside service will take place in early summer at Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Ken may be given to American Legion Post 28 of Grand Haven or the American Lung Association. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at http://www.sytsemafh.com
