Kenneth Lyle Smith's Obituary
Kenneth L. “Ken” Smith, age 84, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024 in Spring Lake, MI. He was born November 22, 1939 in Crockery Township, MI and lived in the area all of his life. Ken was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He married Sharon F. Ackerman on May 26, 1976 in Grand Rapids, MI and she survives him. Ken worked as a truck driver for Foreway Transportation. He later worked 25 years for Coopersville Public Schools and retired as a maintenance supervisor in 1996. Ken loved spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and working in the yard. He loved to take long rides with Sharon on their motorcycle and in his earlier days, his dirt bike. Survivors include his loving wife, Sharon F. Smith; 2 children, Randall Smith, Timothy Smith; 4 step-children, Cheryl (Jack) Hosko, Kimberly (Scott Patterson) Bloom, Ronald (Jody) Long, Jeffery (Tara) Swanson; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Reginald (Shelley) Smith; and 1 sister, Norma (Red) Stephens.
